Quality Control & Safety

The company’s quality system has been evaluated by the Cyprus Organization for Standards and Control of Quality  as well as the Greek Organization of Standardization on the 24th and the 25th of  April 2000 where it was awarded the CYS ISO 9002. On the 20th of December 2003 this quality system was upgraded after it was evaluated by the Cyprus Certification Company to CYS EN ISO 9001:2000.

In fact the company was awarded the CYS EN ISO 9001:2000 concerning the following activities:

"Quarrying, crushing and washing of calcarenite for the production of sand" 

  -The certificate of quality compliance  no. QS.2.00.096.

Based on the quality system CYS EN ISO 9001:2000, laboratory checks conducted by one  private recognized lab ( Geoinvest Ltd) as well as internal lab,  are performed on the finished product on a daily basis.

In the year 2000, 2002 and 2003 the Cyprus Mines Department and the Ministry of Labor awarded Latouros the Shield of Safety of the Quarries and Mines in Cyprus.  In the years 2001 and 2004 the company got a Praise for the same reason.  From 2005 and then this institution was stopped.
